The "Magna Carta" one of the old Humber ferry boats, is over 50 years old. Built by messrs. Charlton's in 1872. Firm also provided the engines which were of the old beam type. Despite her age the Magna Carta was in service during the war, ferrying cattle across the Humber and working fish traffic. She was a paddle steamer of 100ft length, 18 feet beam, gross tonnage 11,589, nett tonnage 6,179. Photograph presented anonymously in June 1923.
