View of Freeman Street and Cobden Street (right) with Asdas Supermarket visible on the far right. The corner building, No.222-224 Freeman Street was built between 1871 and 1877, was originally two separate premises of No.222 and No.224 but was most likely joined together by the Templeman Family who owned a drapers business here for many years. Their business is first in the directories in 1893 and they remain until at least 1935. The business was passed down the Templeman family, who first had the business in 1893 and were based at this building in Freeman Street until at least 1935. In 1958 the building was still a drapers, but now run by White & Welton and in 1964 the business was run soley by Welton. In the late 1960s/early 1970s it was back to being run by White & Welton. Photographed here on the 13th November 2016 at which time the building was stood empty.
